OTTAWA, ON - March 2, 2020 - LWG Architectural Interiors (LWG) has a rich history of leadership in workplace design in Ottawa. Its local roots go deep. The company of 18 staff just celebrated an anniversary - 25 years.
Amassing a host of clients – and a coterie of repeat clients over quarter century and serving the design needs of Ottawa is one pride-evoking feat. A merger with the other, long-established arbiter of workplace design is the biggest design news in as long as anyone can remember. The Design Associates will join LWG under the LWG Architectural Interiors banner on March 2nd, 2020. It’s a much anticipated union. The Design Associates will meld a cadre of talent and over 45 years in business to the award-winning LWG team. Design Associates, with over 3800 completed projects and 48 years in business, list clients from Air Canada to Microsoft, Canada Post to Transport Canada, from Gowling WLG to the Salvation Army. As competition, they have offered LWG continued inspiration to keep doing better work. Having that history and knowledge aligned with LWG promises to change the future of Ottawa’s interior landscape.
LWG has already distinguished themselves as recognized industry leaders. It pioneered what is now common practice in the industry: sustainable design. It pioneered the application. Now it’s a standard. Further, LWG was the first in Ottawa to establish a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) commercial interior. They have been trailblazers in quality assurance, being the one and only interior design firm to have an ISO quality management system. Never content to sit back, they were also the first to bring renderings and virtual walkthroughs to workplace design. They strongly believe there should be a reason for everything put into the design. No material is wasted. Nothing is frivolous. Everything has to respond to a human need or desire whether it’s comfort, rest, vigour or social cohesion.
People spend a huge portion of their lives at work. There are so many things that can be done from promoting alertness to inspiring calm where it’s required.
