When LWG expanded its operations, we took advantage of the opportunity to create Ottawa’s first LEED Commercial Interior space. Leading by example, we were able to create an innovative LEED Silver space in a Class B office building. Our thinking was that if we could do it here for ourselves, we could do it anywhere, with any client. The result is a bright, open, functional and dynamic work environment that our staff is proud to call home.

The design of CBRE’s Ottawa office, driven by the need to bring together the Real Estate and Project Management arms of the company, provided opportunities to integrate rich branding with sustainable design (LEED Gold pending). The result is a timeless, professional environment fostering pride of place and earning dividends in morale.

Cumberland Community Resource Centre

Cumberland, ON

This not for profit Community Resource Centre was bursting at the seams and asked LWG to create a fun and inviting space to accommodate their wide range of clients while maintaining an extremely tight budget for the re-purposed grocery store. The Centres clients range from daycare children and parents to a food bank depository.

IBM Client Service Center

3755 Riverside Dr, Ottawa, ON

LWG was engaged by CBRE to work with their Client, international high-tech pioneer IBM, to renovate and expand their Client Service Center in Ottawa. This included strategic re-use of existing elements and spaces - in some cases re-purposing existing rooms to serve new functions resulting from increased demands on this client-focused facility. Integration of new state of the art audio visual systems was also of key importance to the success of this project. The resulting space serves to retain the original architectural features while providing an updated aesthetic aligned with strategic use of limited real estate.

Rizk Dental

As one of Ottawa’s leading Dental Clinics, Dr. Rizk wanted to develop an environment that reflected the nature of his practice and the leading edge delivery of patient care and services. Dr. Rizk retained the LWG Design Group to develop an environment that supported his vision and provided a unique patient experience. The resulting design program created an architecturally unique and contemporary environment which incorporated undulating curves emphasized with lighting and a soothing colour palate. The space embraces patients, providing privacy without adopting a cellular approach and has been developed to optimize patient care and staff mobility.

World Exchange Plaza

Ottawa, ON

As one of Ottawa’s prime office complexes, the Bentall Kennedy Group wanted to upgrade the three storey retail complex to reflect the nature of its tenancies. The LWG Design Team developed a design program that supported the unique architectural nature of the interior volume and provided an easily maintained, robust and timeless aesthetic solution. The application of wood veneers, custom designed stainless steel corner guards on the columns combined with new lighting and a sophisticated painting program, emphasized the structural and architectural elements of the space and delivered a bright, contemporary and elegant environment that supported Bentall Kennedy’s aesthetic and operational mandate.

Teknion Showroom

When the time came for commercial furniture manufacturer Tekion to renovate their Ottawa showroom, LWG was honoured to be part of the project team. Teknion is committed to sustainable design principles in all aspects of their design and manufacturing, so naturally we needed to create a leading edge working showroom that would achieve LEED-CI certification. This was done in close collaboration with Teknion, which included their own in-house design team.

Cumberland Public Library

1599 Tenth Line Road, Ottawa, ON

When this modest library attached to a high school needed renovations, the City of Ottawa asked LWG to transform the tight and dated space into a larger open environment, a place that would allow for both formal and informal community events. By reclaiming underutilized space and reconfiguring the book stacks, we were able to add an expanded children's area and community meeting rooms, which freed up space for lounge areas, computer access areas and a "Youth Zone" for students to do homework and research.

Sunnyside Public Library

When this historic building needed renovations the City of Ottawa asked LWG to put together a multi-disciplinary team of Architects and Engineers to transform the tight and dated space into a place where the community could hold meetings or just drop in. By reclaiming the lower level we were able to add an expanded children's area along with community meeting rooms, which freed up space on the ground floor for more books and a "Youth Zone" for students to do homework and research.

The use of traditional materials and contemporary styling provided a sophisticated and elegant environment that is timeless to this day.

When this prime Career Management Firm had to vacate their previous premise, LWG was asked to create a warm and inviting environment for their clientele. This was accomplished by maintaining a high level of fit and finish throughout with a strategic approach that maximized the budget by reusing all of the client’s existing furniture.

Kelly Santini

One of Ottawa’s oldest and largest legal firms, Kelly Santini’s need to expand and relocate to a new office provided them with the opportunity to redefine their current environment and reflect the younger dynamic of the firm. With a goal to attract and nurture the best, Kelly Santini retained the LWG team to re-purpose an existing office environment to reflect the corporate vision. By developing a new office standards program and modifying existing fitments, the design team delivered a clean and efficient contemporary space that better supported current legal processes and provided Kelly Santini with a brighter and more productive environment.

CSL Behring

Ushering in a new corporate standard, CSL Behring embraced an aesthetic reflecting the international nature of the corporation. The Design Team focused their efforts on developing an environment that was youthful, dynamic, flexible and above all else concentrated on providing natural light throughout the office. Owing to a well developed strategy for long term flexibility, the CSL Behring office has undergone several renovations and has significantly expanded the number of employees with minimum disruption and all within the confines of their original office area.

The re-purposed Youth Zone facility was upgraded and expanded to appeal to the client’s new vision for the youth of the area. The polished concrete floors and exposed ceiling structure lend a club feel to the space enticing youth to spend time resourcing jobs for future careers.

CHSRF

In support of an extensive corporate shift in service delivery and a rebranding initiative, CHSRF retained the LWG Design Team to develop a new environment that embodied and reflected the new corporate dynamic. LWG developed a design program and implementation strategy to optimize and re-purpose the existing environment to enable the new corporate vision. The new environment provided staff and clients alike with a completely new impression of CHSRF; one that attracted and empowered employees, valued new ideas and reflected the new, more vibrant corporate image.
